Corporate and FinTech Matters
Darshita’s primary focus is in corporate advisory and drafting work relating to FinTech and e-commerce. She has previously written a Directed Research paper for future publication under the guidance of Ms Eliza Mik, Assistant Professor of Law titled, “Who is liable for an unauthorised card-not-present transaction: balancing tensions between risk allocation, security and usability.” In the process of researching, Darshita collaborated with commercial banks and global payment card institutions to gain insight of financial regulations and their implementation of various software systems.
Darshita endeavours to hone a niche in the FinTech / e-commerce industry and keeps herself well-versed in the latest developments in the field.
International social work experiences
Darshita is also passionate about social inequality and strives to make an impact where she can. She assisted a law firm in Melbourne working through the asylum seeker crisis (2013) by preparing submissions in line with the 1951 Refugee Convention (UNHCR). During her years in National University of Singapore, Darshita together with a group of undergraduates pioneered an International Service Project in Sri Lanka annually, to refurbish village schools and imbue students’ confidence in English and IT. She has also served as a guest speaker in a German university conducting Sociology classes on educational and gender inequality in Singapore.
Outside of work, Darshita enjoys a variety of sports and hopes to perfect conversational and written Spanish in the next few years.
